Weekend Edition-January 30-February 2

30 01 2008

Big weekend.

Mardi Gras. SuperBowl Sunday. Pre-Valentine’s Day celebrations.

So whether you wanna show your goodies for some dollar store beads, watch the Pats beat up on the Giants, or be all “boo-ed up” in the name of a Hallmark Holiday..

Citizen has you covered as always.

Get over HumpDay with some cocktails at Play.

This spot has a “South Beach” feel to it, so escape to Collins Avenue…if only for a few hours.

First Fridays has moved to a new location this month.
Grand Central, a nice spot in the heart of Adams Morgan, is worth a peek.
The burgers are great, so you most likely wont have to be subjected to that Pizza Mart line afterwards.
Champagne specials over at Ozio’s this Thursdays.
Hope you’re smart enough to grab a table first.
Bubbly makes me woozy.
The Park’s happy hours have been drawing quite a crowd.
I like this place when it’s not super jammed-packed with the DC elite.
That’s just me though.
Check out their special events for both Mardi Gras and SuperBowl Sunday.
Can’t wait to celebrate Lover’s Day?
You don’t have to.
We’re a bit more excited about all the chocolate, though.
Want to celebrate Valentine’s Day early and give to a great cause at the same time? Then come to the Cake Bar’s You are Loved Valentine’s Party at the K Street Lounge on Friday, Feb. 4. It’s a night of decadent desserts and romantic music, and will feature a silent auction. Look for special items such as a $100 gift certificate to Coup de Foudre Lingerie, six classes from Tranquil Space Yoga and gift baskets from FranScents and Pa Dian Accents.

You can indulge yourself in the delicious liquor-infused chocolate fudge (like Georgia Moonshine or White Chocolate Irish Cream) and delectable cakes. Not to mention a new “cake cocktail”: chocolate hazelnut cake doused withFrangelico. A portion of the ticket sales and silent auction proceeds will go to the World Cocoa Foundation’s Women in Cocoa Farming Education Program, which supports female cocoa farmers in West Africa.Cake Bar’s You are Loved Valentine’s Party, Friday, Feb. 8 from 7 to 10 p.m., K Street Lounge, 1301 K St. NW, 202.962.3933

Part of being a Citizen is stepping out of your own comfort zone.

With that said….get globalized at UltraBar.

High octane fun, we promise.

Speaking of high-octane: The Energy God is coming to the city.

So is Birdman.

Um.

Crowd faves J&K Productions hook up with ESBY for this event at Penang.

We swear LGI Entertainment are the P.Diddys of this nightlife game.

They can’t stop, won’t stop, don’t even know how to stop.

Feel free to break out into a Harlem Shake.

So, they moved the Sunday party from Lima across the street to The Park.

Last week’s turnout was decent, but I hear it was a bit shaky at first.

TreWell Entertainment presents Bourbon Street.
But don’t try to walk out of Love with your drink in hand, this is still DC.

Don’t drink and drive people, and Citizen loves the kids.
Be Easy.
